Here’s the side of the camera you don’t often get to see but I think is so important to share. None of us have a perfect home…not even “professional organizers.” You are an authentic friend and person because of who you are and how you treat others, not because of what your house looks like. No one cares as much as you think they do. Not even me…and I do this for a living. 😉 Here’s my take on what realistic organizing actually looks like and why I think you are doing a great job. Organizing is important, but we can all drop the perfection part. Especially when there are some beautiful kids running around.

Great great video. Thanks………………………
And this is one of many reasons why we all love you and your family and your videos, because you are real, and live a real life, and are a practical wife and mother. The ideas of yours that I’ve done have worked great, and are things anyone can accomplish realistically . Thanks so much Kathryn !
What a kind thing to say, Denise. YES! No one is perfect!
Thanks for your videos! Went I go to visit friends and family I don’t go to look at their house but to visit with them!
This actually fits perfectly with my favor, u did a dollar tree for homeless bags, I saw it and now can’t locate it. I know u r like me in our beliefs of what’s important, please help me find that video, I just went in my first dollar tree and I’d like to make my next one count

I love that you talk about authentic friendship being to most important. The house will be there when you are ready for it, but the connections between friends should not wait.
My husband is actually the organiser in our house. He got me hooked on your channel. We are empty nesters, and we are having fun organising togerher!
I always look forward to your posts. Thanks for sharing and for being authentic.
Thank you so much, Emma. That means a lot to me!
What a wonderful video! Refreshing and Real. There is nothing more pleasing then to go into a home that is lived it! 🙂 Not staged. Yes our homes are a reflection and expression of who we are. Happy and Living!! That you Kathryn for bringing what is really important. Relationships!!
Thank you so much, Dori! Have an awesome day!

Hi Kathryn,
Great video!!! Refreshing and down-to-earth!
I have been following your blog for just over 6 months now (from Seville, Spain) and I absolutely love your ideas and ways of organising! I too love to organise and be organised, however, ever since I’ve had my two children I’ve found it hard to get the house somewhat organised again. But ever since I started seeing your blog, it has inspired me! I’ve done loads and it feels so good to have the house organised, but in a new way, with kids and a family living in it.
The only sad thing I can say is that in Spain we don’t have a Dollar Tree or Target so sometimes I miss not having a handy store like those to buy good, cheap organisers etc. But I find my way with different stores here that are equivalent.
Keep up the great blog because I love following you, you’re truly inspiring!
Thanks so much, Natalie! I know you don’t! It’s so sad! I used to live in Spain, so I completely get it. There are some cheaper shops that sell kind of a catch-all stuff, but it was still pretty pricey. Thanks so much for watching and following.
You so beautyful. Like aou and youre Video!<3
Learn so much from you. See you from Germany! 🙂
God bless you and youre Family!
Wonderful video! You are so on point and made me rethink that my home does not have to be perfect after all it is not a show room but a place where life happens. Thanks for reminding me of that ?
God Bless
Love this Kathryn! I have a similar situation in that I am a cookbook author and when I go to friends they apologize about their food or, more often, say they are afraid to to invite me over because they aren’t good cooks. In reality, I am appreciative of anything anyone cooks for me because it’s wonderful to have someone cook for you even if it isn’t “perfect”. And part of what I “preach” is having people sit together at the table and just enjoy being together– that authentic friendship you talk about. Make a pie with a frozen crust, I am never going to judge and in fact I do that too! (And I need you to help organize that kitchen of mine!)
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who feels this way! TFS, Lari!
You are R E A L and women today need more examples like you. Thx for taking the time to share. You bless my heart & give me encouragement to make some progress each day or… at least every other day. ♥♥♥
Thank you so much, Lucy! Hope you are having an awesome week 🙂
You are not only amazingly helpful with you organizational and money saving tips, you are clearly a caring and understanding person who wants your followers to feel motivated and free from the clutter, but never ashamed when ordinary “life” happens. Thank you!
Thank you, Kathryn, I needed to hear that, today. I work from home and often feel as though I’m fused to my chair and become one with my laptop! My home has become second to my job, of late, which frustrates this organized woman to no end! But I must also say, that I’m grateful to find myself able to work from home, at last and my husband employed after several years out of the workforce! God is good!
Thank you again, for your encouraging words. I enjoy your blog and videos so very much!
Julia
Welove you Kathryn. This video is only one of the reasons. You seem like any girl’s BFF. Such fun watching your videos and learning great ideas. Keep up the good work. We love your family too!
Great thoughts Kathryn! I think every woman needs this reassurance. We tend to be so hard on ourselves and try to be perfect. I always love it when I go to a friends house and tell her how amazing it looks and she admits it doesn’t usually look like that but she cleaned up for her guests. It reinforces that I don’t have to feel like I’m the only one struggling to keep my house neat and organized!
My mom always says, “if you’re coming to see my house, you can come next week/month. If you’re coming to see me, you can come now!” Great video and so true!!
